Public Policy: Economic Vitality & Sustainability

VBSR supports economic development policies that build on Vermont's strengths: our extraordinary workforce, high quality of life, beautiful open spaces and clean environment.  We believe healthy people, healthy communities, and a healthy environment are the foundations of a healthy economy.

Current Action

We continue to support initiatives, including the recently launched Vermont "Farm to Plate" Investment Program, that focus on economic sustainability through the development of local food production and local energy generation. VBSR is also exploring the development of model "Magnet Regions"- An Infrastructure Model to Sustain and Attract Business Enterprise.

VBSR is also participating in the creation of changes to ensure solvency of the Vermont Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund and has convened a summer/fall study group.
