Business and the Role of Government (1992)

The role of government should be perceived by business as an equalizer. It is in the best interests of business for children to be fed, for people to be educated and literate, for families to be adequately housed, for everyone to have full access to health care, and for the natural environment and its resources to be protected. Left on its own, business cannot see to these social needs and meet the challenges of the marketplace. There is a role for government.

Also, business should support legislative and policy initiatives which seek to forge new and innovative partnerships between the government and business to address and solve problems facing Vermont.
