Members of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility and the public will gather for a networking event hosted by Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports at Sugarbush Resort to learn more about how the organization focuses on its clients’ “abilities” rather than their disabilities through its adaptive sports and recreation programs.

Vermont Adaptive’s Executive Director, Erin Fernandez, will talk about the organization’s vision that sports and recreation provide a physical, mental and social experience that is immeasurable in promoting self-confidence and independence in an individual. Event participants will hear how the dedicated staff and volunteers of Vermont Adaptive work to offer a variety of recreational opportunities to promote self-confidence and independence in individuals with disabilities.

VBSR members, other business people and the general public are welcome to attend. The fee is $7 for VBSR members, $10 for non-members. Refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is appreciated. Event participants will also receive a complimentary lift ticket if they wish to observe clinics demonstrating Vermont Adaptive’s philosophy in action.

This event is hosted by Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports and is sponsored by CVCAC Community Action Motors – donated car program for low-income working families; Erickson Consulting; and Merritt & Merritt & Moulton, Attorneys at Law. It is co-sponsored by VABIR – Vermont Association of Business, Industry & Rehabilitation.
