Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is a statewide, nonprofit business association with a mission to leverage the power of business for positive social and environmental impact. For over 30 years VBSR has championed “business as a force for good” through education, networking, advocacy and thought leadership.

We are Vermont’s network of students, entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, small businesses, largest employers, policymakers, advocates, nonprofit organizations and inspired individuals – collectively working toward a just, thriving and transformative economy that works for all people and the planet.

VBSR Events

Attendees will emerge inspired, connected with forward-thinking leaders, and replenished with new awareness, resources, and action steps to drive change.

Higher poverty communities and communities of color were disproportionately affected by the pandemic. The Vermont Law and Graduate School Center for Justice Reform has invited esteemed guest speakers Dr. Pedro Flores and Dr. Timothy Gallagher to join us in dialogue.

This virtual session will explore how communities that have experienced environmental devastation can use restorative practices to recover, rebuild, and heal.

Celebrating CCS: Our Work and Community - Awards Lunch '25 celebrates the work and people of CCS, and the community that makes it all happen.

Join us in celebrating B Corp Month by connecting with friends and colleagues at Lawson’s Finest Liquids in Waitsfield for an evening of networking, finger foods, and delicious drinks! March is B Corp Month, and we’ll celebrate by recognizing Vermont’s Certified B Corporations (the most per capita in the nation!) and the Vermont B Corp Collective, which serves as the official home for Vermont B Corps in partnership with B Lab.

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, the statewide, nonprofit business association with a mission to leverage the power of business for positive social and environmental impact, is pleased to welcome three new members to the organization’s Board of Directors: Rooney Castle of Rhino Foods, Ashley Laporte of Burton, and Eliza Leeper of Vermont Creamery.

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is pleased to announce that Ed Richters has joined the organization as Finance and Operations Manager. In this role, Richters supports VBSR’s efforts by advancing the organization’s mission through managing its financial and operations systems.

Efficiency Vermont has increased offers for businesses replacing equipment damaged by the 2023 and 2024 summer flooding.
