Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is a statewide, nonprofit business association with a mission to leverage the power of business for positive social and environmental impact. For over 30 years VBSR has championed “business as a force for good” through education, networking, advocacy and thought leadership.

We are Vermont’s network of students, entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, small businesses, largest employers, policymakers, advocates, nonprofit organizations and inspired individuals – collectively working toward a just, thriving and transformative economy that works for all people and the planet.

VBSR Events

Join us for networking with the VBSR community in the heart of Barre! We will gather for a Networking Get-Together in downtown Barre at the brand new, beautiful event space at Barre Social Club from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. This is a wonderful chance to unwind, celebrate, engage in community building, and connect with others over delicious food and drinks!

Attendees will emerge inspired, connected with forward-thinking leaders, and replenished with new awareness, resources, and action steps to drive change.

Higher poverty communities and communities of color were disproportionately affected by the pandemic. The Vermont Law and Graduate School Center for Justice Reform has invited esteemed guest speakers Dr. Pedro Flores and Dr. Timothy Gallagher to join us in dialogue.

This virtual session will explore how communities that have experienced environmental devastation can use restorative practices to recover, rebuild, and heal.

VBSR members met with key Vermont policymakers during our annual lobby day, March 11, 2025, addressing the impacts of climate change on Vermont’s businesses and economy.
