Event Description
It isn’t always possible to see a company's ideals, but the Montpelier studio of Gossens Bachman Architects (GBA) is a wonderful embodiment of the company’s philosophy of “art achieved by collaboration.” The office’s award-winning, open design encourages everyone to be involved in the creative process. The space also serves as a testing ground for many of the firm’s unique, functional, environmentally friendly, and energy efficient designs. GBA believes in “creating buildings “inspired by culture and place” and incorporating “state of the art ‘green’ strategies that support community life.”
In addition to GBA’s design philosophy, the company also incorporates principles of sustainability into finding and working with like-minded clients and staff. Among many projects, GBA has designed buildings for three VBSR members--the Vermont Center for Independent Living, the Vermont Foodbank, and Woodbury College. Join us to hear how GBA’s owners think creatively in making decisions about their work environment and location, the natural environment, and their stakeholder community.
Directions to Event
From I-89, take exit 8. Go straight through 3 lights, and turn left at 4th light over bridge. As bridge ends take first right onto Stone Cutters Way; follow until you reach the end of the road at the T with Granite Street (large green bridge on your right). Turn onto Granite Shed Lane (the diagonal left across the road) past 3 large metal buildings. GBA’s buidling is past the fenced-in pond area.
