Event Description
Don Mayer has come a long way from his days of rescuing abandoned wind turbines from Midwestern farms and bringing them back to Vermont for refurbishing. He and his son, Hapy, seem to have found their niche in the world of Apple computers. Never intending to open a retail store, they are now experiencing phenomenal success with their second one—Small Dog's new flagship store in South Burlington. That's great news for socially responsible business principles.
Staunch advocates for multiple bottom line practices, Don and Hapy spread the SR message far and wide. With an ever increasing group of customers for life, and a workplace full of loyal employees and happy doggies, Small Dog is proving that financial success and SR business go hand-in-hand. Come and learn more about how initiatives such as Small Dog's program matching customer contributions to charitable causes, its eWaste program, and employee involvement in the community create goodwill, help the planet, and make this a business everyone wants to support.
