Hosting a VBSR event gives you a chance to highlight the SR practices in your company to other members and non-members. It's a great way to gain visibility and share knowledge. To learn more about hosting a Get-Together, please email our Communication and Membership Manager, Russ Elek.
Get-Togethers are informal gatherings that give members a chance to catch up with each other and to get a more in-depth look at the host's business. Most are held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., but the time is flexible. (For example, we've had success hosting 'breakfast' Get-Togethers in the past.) VBSR typically runs 8-10 Get-Togethers per year around Vermont, each hosted by a VBSR member. Attendance at Get-Togethers ranges from 30-150 people; events held in other parts of the state are generally smaller than those held in Chittenden County.
What VBSR Provides
VBSR prints and mails approximately 700 invitations to members and some non-members in and around the host county. We also publicize the event through press releases, our website, social media channels and our email. VBSR handles all registration and nametags, as well as runs the program at the event. VBSR solicits sponsors for the event who get logo placement and podium time at the event; in return Hosts of Get-Togethers receive top billing and separate billing on all materials, as well as extended podium time to talk about CSR issues and their organization.
The member/host is responsible for providing:
- The site
- a 15-20 minute presentation on a socially responsible business practice
- a brief tour of the business (if appropriate)
How to Host a Get-Together
In November of each year, our Program Committee meets to plan the Get-Together schedule for the following year. We welcome your interest in hosting, but please also remember that spots are limited and, depending on your location, there may be a waiting list for your area. If you are interested in hosting a Get-Together, please contact us.
