Hosting Opportunities
Hosting a VBSR event gives you a chance to highlight the SR practices in your company to other members and non-members. It's a great way to gain visibility, and to share knowledge.
Events available for hosting are:
- Networking Get-Togethers
- Circle Discussion Groups
This page deals with Get-Togethers. To learn more about hosting a Circle, please email us.
To skip all of the info below and get in touch with us about hosting a Get-Together, please email Rita, our Program Manager, at ritab@vbsr.org.
About Get-Togethers
Get-Togethers are informal. They're gatherings that give members a chance to catch up with each other, and to get a more in-depth look at the host's business. Most are held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., but the time is flexible.
There are 8-10 Get-Togethers per year around Vermont, each hosted by a VBSR member.
What VBSR Provides
VBSR prints and mails 1000 invitations to members and some non-members. We also publicize the event through press releases, our web site, and our member e-mail/ENews. VBSR handles all registration and nametags at the event. Attendance at Get-Togethers ranges from 30-120 people; events held in other parts of the state are generally smaller than those held in Chittenden County.
Host Responsibilities
The member/host is responsible for providing:
- The site,
- a 15-20 minute presentation on a socially responsible business practice,
- a brief tour of the business (if appropriate), and
- appetizers/beverages.
How to Host a Get-Together
In November of each year, our Program Committee meets to plan the Get-Together schedule for the following year. We welcome your interest in hosting, but please also remember that spots are limited and, depending on your location, there may be a waiting list for your area. If you are interested in hosting a Get-Together, please contact Rita Bothfeld at ritab@vbsr.org.
