VBSR members and friends are invited to join us for an evening networking and education at the Kingdom Tap Room in St. Johnsbury! Join us as we “Get-Together” to talk about CSR, sustainability, and what happens when a community comes together to invest in the local economy. This event is open to the public and is free for anyone interested in the triple-bottom-line approach to business. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks provided by our generous hosts!

Before the term triple-bottom line was even coined, the founders of Downs Rachlin Martin recognized the importance of actively giving back to the community, being a good corporate citizen, and taking care of their employees. To celebrate their 50th anniversary and institutionalize charitable giving, the firm created the Community Fund, a program designed to support local communities and encourage volunteerism. Over the past 16 years, the firm has supported a broad spectrum of Vermont non-profits, making awards to approximately 15 charities each year through the program. Attorneys and staff are encouraged to do volunteer work and, on average, DRM attorneys collectively provide more than 500 hours of free legal services annually to those in need. In addition, attorneys and staff serve as directors on a multitude of non-profit boards.
DRM is always working to reduce their environmental footprint. DRM supports the Vermont Environmental Consortium, upholds the Vermont Green Business standards, continually improves the use of technology, which helps reduce paper consumption, and makes facility improvements to reduce the consumption of energy.

MVZ Holdings, LLC
MVZ Holdings is made up of three partners that share a passion for their community. They do their small part through investing in real estate and small businesses in the region. Within their portfolio they own commercial properties, have started a successful co-working space in St. Johnsbury, and are part owners in the Kingdom Taproom. MVZ strives to be hands-on, passionate, and deliberate in their actions and work.

The Foundry Workshop
The Foundry Workshop provides a community space where tools, equipment, expertise and technology are available to our members. We are hosted by Lyndon Institute in their True Building at 79 King Drive in Lyndon Center. The space currently includes an electronics laboratory, woodworking equipment, metalworking machine shop equipment, and a welding shop. There are work areas where projects can be worked on individually or with the collaboration of others. Our organization brings people of all ages together to learn, create and build. We have a broad focus that exists to support invention, design and development. We build on the strengths of local talent, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. The Foundry Workshop is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 5PM to 9PM and Saturdays from 9AM to 1PM.
