Event Description

The Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company is our Host!

The Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company began as a community effort to save a local farm and it's surrounding rural landscape in South Woodstock, Vermont. Fourteen neighbors joined together to keep a threatened Vermont dairy farm from being repurposed and to continue as a vital working Vermont landscape. In very short order, the dairy farm has been transformed into an award-winning cheese company that is creating an entirely new generation of unique farmstead and artisanal cheeses. Farmstead's multi-breed herd, sustainable dairy farming practices, and creative cheese makers have put a delicious Vermont twist on traditional old-world cheese recipes. The Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company is keeping up with nationwide demand by building a new cheese production facility, retail space, and affinage space scheduled to open in the Fall of 2012 in Windsor, Vermont. While eagerly embracing this anticipated growth, the company remains firmly dedicated to its founding principles to produce a variety of unique and excellent cheeses, gently care for its herd of cows and farm land, foster Vermont's farming communities by using only 100% Vermont milk, and elevate the state's dairy industry.

The Harpoon Brewery was founded by beers lovers, Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary.  In 1986 Harpoon was issued Brewing Permit #001 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, since it was the first brewery to brew commercially in the state after a dormant period of about 25 years.  Harpoon’s line of craft beer features its award-winning IPA and UFO Hefeweizen beers, along with four special seasonal selections. In 2000 Harpoon purchased a second brewery in Windsor, VT, making Harpoon the 10th largest craft brewer in the US.  Harpoon has since introduced two lines of limited edition beers, the 100 Barrel Series and the Leviathan Series, as well as the all-natural Harpoon Cider made from freshly pressed, local apples.  For more information about Harpoon beers and visiting the breweries, visit
